Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to run MiClase. For teachers, this includes your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile name, email address, and profile photo. For students, the information — full name, username, date of birth, parent or guardian contact information, and classroom assignment — is entered and managed by the teacher, not by the student directly. Each student record also carries an active-session flag used to enforce one-device-at-a-time login. When you submit our contact form, we store your name, email address, the topic selected, and your message. For paid subscriptions, we store the PayPal subscription identifier returned by PayPal; payment card and bank details are handled by PayPal and are never stored by MiClase.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve MiClase; to create and manage teacher and student accounts; to process paid subscriptions; to send academy invitations and support replies; and to respond to your comments and questions. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics and do not track your browsing behavior across our site.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of third-party processors to operate MiClase. Google provides the optional "Continue with Google" sign-in for teachers and the fonts used on the landing page. PayPal processes subscription payments for the Plus and Academy plans. Each of these services has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies on the pages where they are used (for example, the PayPal checkout or Google sign-in flow). We share only the data strictly required to perform these functions.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a self-hosted database on our servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your personal information, including hashed passwords and restricted access to the data store. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
MiClase is used by students, including minors. Student personal information — such as name, username, date of birth, and parent or guardian contact details — is entered and managed by the student's teacher through the teacher web dashboard, not collected directly from the child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, do not direct advertising at them, and do not send marketing communications to students. If you believe a student's information has been entered in error or needs to be removed, please contact us and we will work with the responsible teacher to correct or delete the record.
Cookies and Local Storage
MiClase itself sets only essential local data: an authentication token stored on your device so you stay logged in (in your browser's local storage on the web, or in the app's secure storage on mobile), and small preferences such as your language and dark-mode setting. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The third-party services listed above (Google and PayPal) may set their own cookies on the specific pages where they operate, in line with their own policies.
